Geoff Neustadt
Commissioner Geoff Neustadt was elected to the Downers Grove Village Council in 2007 and is currently
serving in his first term. He chose to get involved with public service because he has a love and
desire to be actively involved in the community: “Our town is a great place to live, work, and be
a part of.”
Commissioner Neustadt has lived in Downers Grove his entire life. He met his wife Leslie in beautiful
downtown Downers Grove in 2002 and they were married in 2005. Geoff and Leslie recently welcomed their
first child, David Gregory, to their family in November 2008. Geoff, Leslie and David also have
a Labrador Retriever named Homer. In his spare time, Geoff enjoys playing golf, cooking, and spending
time with family and friends.
Geoff is proud of having been elected to serve on the Downers Grove Village Council. He states that
the most rewarding aspect about serving on the Council is being able to help the residents in their
times of need. It is very important to Commissioner Neustadt that the Village continues to provide
excellent services, safety, and security for Downers Grove and its residents.
Professionally, Commissioner Neustadt has worked for 15 years as a Maintenance Mechanic for Downers
Grove Grade School District #58 and has worked in multiple retail stores including a small business
in Downtown Downers Grove. He also has worked as a junior golf instructor for the Downers Grove
Park District. Commissioner Neustadt attended the College of DuPage with studies in facilities
management and various other course work. Geoff has continued his education by attending many
seminars and certificate courses in the maintenance field.
